Most of you know I’m a big reader—and I also love podcasts, audiobooks, and deep dives on literally anything and everything. And yes, I have an unusual memory for fun facts and history. You want me on your trivia team. Just sayin’. I believe all of us should be on a journey to grow—as humans, as agents, as leaders, as parents, sisters, mothers, fathers, brothers … you get the idea.
One of my favorite quotes is: “He who thinks he knows everything knows nothing.” It’s attributed to Socrates, the ancient Greek philosopher who was kind of a cool guy—he challenged the status quo, asked the tough questions, and made people think deeply. He believed in constant self-examination and learning, which I think is pretty spot-on for this wild ride we call real estate.
With that in mind, I’ll be sharing some thoughts with you every week. It’ll be short, meaningful, and focused on real estate insights woven with stories of resilience, lessons learned, and sparks of inspiration. Think of it as a weekly boost—a way for us to stay connected and grounded through change.
Life doesn’t hand out schedules. It throws curveballs, detours, and unexpected left turns—and real estate is no different. Just when you think you’ve got a handle on it, new industry rules and laws emerge, interest rates shift, tariffs come into play, and market uncertainty sets in.
But unpredictability isn’t the enemy. It’s where we grow. Wisdom doesn’t come from cruising through easy times. It’s forged when we get knocked around a bit, learn something, and get back up with a clearer view.
This business tests us constantly. But here’s what I know: You’ve handled challenges before, and every time you did, you came out smarter, stronger, and more humble. That’s how we get better. That’s how we become true professionals.
The only thing we truly control is how we show up—our effort, our attitude, our integrity. Everything else? Temporary. Markets shift, client moods swing, deals fall apart. But your character—how you respond when it’s hard—that’s what defines you in this business and in life.
Don’t wait for the world to get easier. Get stronger. Keep showing up, even when it’s messy. Especially when it’s messy. Let the pressure refine you, not define you.
You’ve got this. Keep learning, keep pushing, and remember—tough seasons grow powerful people.
